Mihai is an attorney with 8+ years of experience in EU and Romanian competition law, out of which more than 5 years at the Romanian Competition Council (RCC) during which he worked as investigation coordinator and member of the investigation team in several antitrust investigations, including cartels, abuse of dominance and vertical restrictions, as well as Dawn Raids Team Leader and case coordinator for the assessment of economic concentrations, answering to complaints, leniency applications and whistle-blower communications with regards to possible antitrust infringements.

His experience with the European Commission as trainee, visiting ECN official and TAIEX expert, along with his experience in representing the RCC in matters involving the European Commission and other EU competition authorities, as well as his work as competition expert with Republic of Moldova and Ukraine’s competition authorities, significantly enhances his ability to handle multijurisdictional legal issues.

Mihai’s experience in competition law covers numerous sectors including automotive, energy & gas, construction, digital services, FMCG, postal services, automotive and aviation insurance services, protection services. He also provided assistance on general corporate matters and in due diligence investigations, drafting and reviewing contracts and corporate documents, registering with the Romanian Trade Registry the necessary corporate changes, as well as provided legal representation in front of Romanian courts and other public authorities and provided legal advice with regards to other commercial and regulatory matters.

At the moment, Mihai provides on a daily basis assistance and legal representation in antitrust investigations, sector investigations and notification procedures in front of the RCC, assistance in carrying out EU competition law compliance trainings and audits, day-to-day competition law advice, contract drafting, negotiation and review, with a special focus on the consumer electronics, FMCG and pharmaceuticals sectors. 

Mihai is a member of the Bucharest bar since 2016.
